The Lone Peak legacy has come a long way since its first model was released 10 years ago. Today, the Lone Peak 5 maintains its status as the trail icon we know and love. This evolution includes the addition of an Altra EGO midsole, bringing an extra level of response to every step you take while conquering all types of terrain with the MaxTrac outsole. The updated StoneGuard offers more coverage while using less substance and the laser-cut drainage holes allow you to get drenched with added drainage. It's safe to say that with the Lone Peak 5, no trail is safe.

Bought the Altra Lone Peak 5 as my first trail shoe based on the recommendation from Gone Running team. So far very happy, good fit out of the box. Appreciate the large toe box, the shoe feels stable and the zero drop is pleasant on trails.

I have changed shoe brands and models multiple times to try find the right combination of fit and grip. Lone Peak 5 is the best for me so far. The wide toe box is the best feature here. I wasn’t sure I would like zero drop, but it’s easy to get used to. And the grip is decent in most weather scenarios in HK.

Took a big leap of faith to switch from my long-time favourite brand (La Sportiva) but I was not disappointed! Unbelievably great fit and comfort level. Light, agile with the high degree of terrain feel under foot that I wanted (too many big clumpy shoes that **** any feeling of connection with the terrain these days). On the first few test runs, the Lone Peak 5 has performed well on most surfaces and proven incredibly comfortable all over, not just the big generous toe-box. My only fault (if you can call it that) is that the grip can't handle wet flat stones, especially if they have a killer layer of wet moss on top. To be fair, I'm not sure these were designed for super aggressive/technical trails. Other than that minor shortcoming, I love these shoes and can recommend them very highly
