Upgraded from a very well used pair of Timp 2 - feels like being back home again with slightly better cushioning and more toe space - so super comfortable ride, great shoe to go fast in on the trails and road - no clunky stack height to deal with. As before the grip is not good in wet conditions - time for Altra to go Vibram on all their shoes! Only other reservation is they seem to have made the upper support around the ankle smaller - had a bit of heel slip - easily remedied with thicker socks. Altra always the most comfortable shoe out there which brings me back every time - now if only they could find some good designers to improve the look of their shoes it would be a win win!

I have been wearing few generations of Timp. I like the spacious toebox design that have never given me any blisters, Timp 3 model was also no exception.It adds to the fitting which feels more secure on the feet, the stability gives more control on the shoe when running. But the outsole of this shoe is softer compared to the previous models. Personally I feel that the shoe dries easily during wet conditions. Overall the experience of Timp 3 is great, having three pairs of them as standby.

Women's pair was a perfect fit. Men's pair was narrow across ball of the foot.

Zero drop and wide (enough) toe box, trim heel and mid-foot helps locked in feel and landing agility on technical trails. Love the laces holder stretchy strap. Inner sole slipped once inside one shoe bunching up so had to take shoe off to fix - hoping it doesn’t happen again. Fine on dry terrain. Biggest problem is so slippery when wet - - much more so that others wearing different brands on same trail, Altra Superior did same. Altra needs to fix MaxTrac and get back to something closer to Vibram rubber.

A satisfying all-round running trainer. Lightweight. Good spring when running on the road and good support when running on trail. Perhaps a touch expensive for what it is.
