After maybe 50-60K running in them, very pleased with the shoes. I like having a zero drop trainer in my rotation for easy run / post workouts to help stretch the calves/achilles. The cushioning is soft but not overly so, and providing still good ground feel. And of course the roomy toe box makes the feet very happy. One last thing, and the last, in these summer humid/hot months, they keep a very tolerable scent (as opposed to pretty much any other shoe), don’t know what material they use in their sock liner but it’s working…PH08/29/2021Philip H.Hong Kong SAR ChinaAltra - Torin 5
After getting through 3 pairs of the Torin 4 shoe, it was time for a new pair. Seems great so farAL08/02/2021Anders L.Hong Kong SAR ChinaFine, but … among other things: NOT TRUE TO SIZE
I love my Plush 4.5, have clocked some 700km and they have held up very well, but were about to be replaced. So I have now burned in the Torin 5.0 on some 50km. Two things: even though they are unnoticeable lighter and same stack, they seem and feel less nimble than the 4.5, also when placed next to a pair of brand new 4.5 in the shop. I then noticed that the 5.0 inner removable sole is half as thick as the 4.5 one, so I think the outer sole itself is 2mm higher than the 4.5 to give it the same overall stack. Something I didn’t see in any review, but that I am sure is what gives that a bit clunkier look and also feel I have. Another thing. I use US10 and have never had issues with my 4.5, however in the 5.0, I can clearly feel that I touch the front cap at the front of my big toe when running down hill. Not an issue I hope, but to me, the US10 Torin 5.0 is enough smaller/shorter than the US10 Torin 4.5, to nearly make it anniaaueAltra seems to have not made the same block, caveat emptor, not true to size! The sole is softer on the 5.0 when in the hand, but not something I notice a whole lot when alternating between the 5.0 and 4.5 when breaking them in. And BTW, I read 234g somewhere - US10 is 259g out of the box on my electronic. The 4.5 ditto was 265g A fine, but not a great, shoe - the 4.5 was wauw to me, the 5.0 is not.JP07/22/2021Jerry P.Hong KongPretty cushy
Still early going, but so far although a little bit squishy, otherwise very nice.LP07/04/2021Laurent P.Hong Kong SAR ChinaVery good training shoes
Very similar w Ronin 4.5 - good grip - like it very much for comfortable & regular training.
