Named for HOKA Athlete Karl “Speedgoat” Meltzer, the Speedgoat 4 is part of an award-winning family known for making quick work of technical terrain. The fourth edition features a new breathable yet rugged mesh. We included 3D printed overlays for increased midfoot support and an overall more secure feel. Most importantly, we added a more accommodating fit in the toe box for a more comfortable ride. Grippy on the uphill and secure on the downhill, the Speedgoat 4 is badass on every trail.

Super grip for super-slippy Hong Kong
This is my second pair of Speedgoat 4s. Love the grip on these, which feels super-secure when navigating terrain. They aren't the lightest of shoes but I'll gladly trade the cushioning and Vibram sole.
The one change that takes a tiny bit of getting use to is the tongue, which is a new design. The Speedgoat 3's tongue had a fair bit of padding, whereas the 4's is more minimalist. I don't mind that change but it does feel different. The better change, to my mind, is that the toe box is slightly more generous than on the 3.
