Gone Running in collaboration with Philippine Trail Running Association (PhilTRA) as our charity partner is launching a GPS watch Trade-in program to support underprivileged youth and aspiring athletes in the remote regions of the Philippines, empowering them with essential gear to chase their athletic dreams and change their lives!
About PhilTRA
Founded in 2021, the Philippine Trail Running Association (PhilTRA) is the official, independent non-profit national governing body for trail running in the Philippines, fully recognized under the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) and World Athletics network. Beyond staging elite races, PhilTRA is deeply committed to grassroots sports development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and environmental sustainability.
Core Grassroots & Youth Programs (Where Will Your Old Watches Go?)
- "Batang PhilTRA" Youth Athlete Development Program
- This flagship initiative discovers and nurtures young athletic talents (including U20 and U23 squads) from underprivileged and remote mountainous provinces. While these kids possess immense natural running talent, they lack access to the most basic sporting gear.
- "GRIT" (Girls Running in Trails) Initiative
- A targeted fund providing training, race opportunities, and mentorship for young female runners from low-income communities, breaking down financial and geographical barriers to competitive sports.
- Grassroots Elite Training Camps
- PhilTRA regularly hosts fully subsidized training camps across provincial regions to scout potential national athletes. Selected runners are given professional coaching to ahelp them climb out of poverty through sports.
